Melanie and Rachel

Meet our new employees! And learn a little about them 🙂

Melanie and Rachel came down to work with us for the week!

It was so fun to have them, and to teach them about the process.

We love beekeeping but we aren’t the most knowledgable in the industry.

We happen to have some associates that we believe are, though, so we are constantly turning towards them and gleaning from their wealth of knowledge.

One thing we did realize though, or maybe I should say reconfirm, is that we LOOOVVE teaching people about bees and beekeeping.

We have been toying with the idea of teaching a beekeeping class for a long time and we finally decided that it’s time for us to fill in the gaps of our knowledge so that we can make this vision a reality!

Thanks Melanie and Rachel for helping us realize this! It was so much fun to work with you and teach you. I can’t believe the week went by so fast. I think we might need to make this some sort of annual tradition with aspiring beekeepers!

These pictures are from one evening off that we went out and took some pictures of them representing @HawsBeesHoney in their Bee Themed Shirts we sell on occasion.

Rachel is a go-getter, hard working and a track and volleyball champ. It was weird to have someone around taller than me. I’m not really use to that. Haha. Major height envy. Being tall is awesome. Maybe I should add right here if you’re short, I still love you! Me being tall can benefit you too haha. It provides for a more flattering angle in pictures if your photographer is taller than you. Even though I get to use my height in my job I still miss playing volleyball with you on Thursday nights Rachey! <3

Melanie is bold, strong-willed and will fight for what she believes. She’s also my big (well, older) sister so it’s fun to tease her in the name of ‘little’ sister tradition! She’s an amazing hiker and adventurer and is always interested in exploring new places.

One last thought- Am I just old, or when you hear the phrase “Bee Kind” does anyone else think “rewind” automatically. You know? From the movie rental store stickers on VHS’s? Tell me I’m not the only one!

  1. Melissa says:

These girls are amazing as you say they are! You are so lucky to have them help you out! ❤️

  2. Caitlin says:

I definitely think rewind! Haha now the library DVD’s have little check boxes for if the DVD is scratched haha

  3. Connie says:

Cute pictures! The evening desert glow just matches everything about yummy honey!
