This family is one of my favorites. When they moved into our neighborhood I told Trent they were the 2.0 version of us. They are also business owners themselves and love to travel just like us! It was so fun to be able to meet this little guy and take some photos of him and his sweet family. I know I say this every time but I have been absolutely loving the in-home newborn sessions and I think because I am use to just using the stuff I see around because that is what I have to do at weddings I have no shame in using peoples random household items, moving furniture etc. to get the shot. (Oh no… now that I’m thinking about it I don’t think I moved their coffee table back to where it was when I got there and I need to apologize for that). I bring the essentials and the just can’t help but add from there! I usually try to put everything back where I found it though. I think part of the fun of photography for me is a challenge. Figuring out tricky lighting, making images that are beautiful with not much besides what you have around you. If it’s too much of a set up it gets boring to me and maybe even a little to stuffy and contrived. Everyone knows you can make a perfect image these days I prefer to work for something that is perfectly REAL- something that captures not just a perfect facial expression but perfect emotion. I don’t know… Just what I’ve been thinking about.
Here are a few of my favorites:
