When we shot these photos it was the rehearsal night for the Mesa Temple Easter Pageant Jesus the Christ. There were lots of people dressed in costumes rushing back and forth from the parking lot area to the huge lawn area out front. At one point a small heard of Roman Soldiers walked past and one said “Do you want a Roman Soldier in one of your pictures?” I figured it’s not every day you get to have a Roman Solider in your baptism pictures, so I told him he better come on over and stand in for a few, and he did. That’s the story of how Liv took baptism pictures with a Roman Soldier. Besides of course the obvious perk of having a Roman Soldier in a few photos this was a PERFECT time to do pictures at the Mesa Temple. The blooms are incredible, almost unreal. It’s just pink and purple everywhere! We have loved being able to walk around the grounds this spring and witness the bustle around our neighborhood as people attend the Easter Pageant. If you live in the area and haven’t been definitely go this week! It’s at 8pm Tues, Wed, Thur, Fri, and Saturday is the last day! We went last Friday and it was beautiful and very well done. It was just the right length for small kids and not too long like a lot of performances can be. My only suggestion would be to bring ear muffs for the little kids and anyone who has sensitive ears like our family does. It’s a large area with almost 10,000 chairs and then grass area where people sit behind and in front of that so I can see why some parts are so loud- because they need to make sure everyone way in the back can hear too! Needless to say it’s a great time of year to be around the Mesa Temple and the weather during both Liv’s Session and the Pageant was beautiful.
Here are a few of my favorites from Liv’s session!…
