First of all: Happy birthday to Mila!
What a beautiful day it was in flagstaff!
And I have to say I totally admire the Curtis family’s dedication to annual family pictures. Not only do they take annual family portraits they drove to flagstaff for the day to switch things up a bit.
I love the jeweled tones everyone wore that looked so crisp and fresh juxtaposed against the subtly changing aspens and green pines.
It was especially fun for me to see little Amelia again for the first time since last year, and oh my goodness she is just as adorable and talks now too, and so well! She, of course, still has everyone wrapped around her finger. She did so amazing and was so smiley and adventurous, even as the temps got a little more chilly and we wrapped up for the evening.
I wore Sage in the wrap since she was happy and sleeping and Trent was there to take her if she ever woke up- which she finally did at the very end. I love having a job where I can keep my babies close, and a supportive husband who is always there to help, even when he isn’t second shooting.
The clouds were in and out and we had some heavy ones which made it fun to play with different scenarios that you might not normally see me shoot in and the even lighting allowed for creamy colorful backdrops.
At the very end of our session the sun peeked out from behind the clouds just before it fell behind the horizon and we got some beautiful rim lit portraits to contrast the other portraits of the day.
Really couldn’t have asked for a better day.
Thank you to the Curtis Family for giving me the honor…and the excuse to go up to flagstaff one last time before I work in the valley every single weekend until two weeks into December!
I had no idea how much I needed my mountain home this weekend! Nothing like a big breath of clean mountain air to get you back on track.
What a great family!
